Steps for setting up access to the G-REX System
Access to the G-REX system may be requested in particular by renewable gas producers, gas suppliers, gas consumers and other gas market participants wishing to be registered in the Registry of Renewable Gases, by completing the relevant application form and submitting the required annexes. A new applicant must submit the application no later than 30 working days before the requested effective date of access to the G-REX system.
Before an account is created, a written contract on activities related to the issuance and use of Guarantees of Origin for renewable gas (hereinafter the “G-REX Contract”) must be concluded with SPP – distribúcia, a.s., and the applicant must express its agreement with the G-REX Registry User Manual.
The applicant shall select the EECS standard, the national SK GAS standard, or both standards. Guarantees of Origin are held in separate sub-accounts and transfers between sub-accounts of different standards are not permitted. The activation of the EECS sub-account and the use of the AIB Hub are also conditional upon the separate conclusion of the AIB Standard Terms and Conditions (STC) between SPP – distribúcia, a.s. and the Account Holder. This requirement also applies to existing Account Holders requesting activation of the EECS standard.
The issuance, transfer and cancellation of Guarantees of Origin are possible only after the account has been created, the relevant sub-account has been activated and the conditions set out in the Operating Rules of the Registry of Rnewable Gases have been fulfilled. The rules for the use of the individual standards are further specified in the SPPD Domain Protocol and the relevant contractual terms and conditions.
International transfers of Guarantees of Origin under the EECS standard are carried out via the AIB Hub, while the ERGaR Hub is used for the SK GAS standard. Via the ERGaR Hub, only non-EECS Guarantees of Origin issued by a body duly appointed by an EU Member State may be imported. The export of SK GAS to a domain that has an appointed Issuing Body for the same energy carrier and is connected to the AIB Gas Hub is not permitted.
If a transfer from or to a foreign registry cannot be carried out through the relevant hub, SPP – distribúcia, a.s. must be contacted in advance. The admissibility and further procedure, including any potential Ex-Domain Cancellation, are assessed in accordance with applicable legislation, the Operating Rules and the SPP – distribúcia Domain Protocol.
Upon first login, the Account Holder is obliged to verify the accuracy of the data recorded in the G-REX system. An Account Holder that is a legal entity shall notify any changes to its data without delay by e-mail; a change of bank account number in IBAN format must be notified in writing, signed by the statutory representative, and sent to the registered office address of SPP – distribúcia, a.s. An Account Holder that is a natural person shall notify each change of data in writing with their own signature.
