SPP – distribúcia, a.s. ensures the issuance, transfer, recognition, cancellation, and possible auctioning of Guarantees of Origin of renewable gases based on Act No. 309/2009 Coll. on the promotion of renewable energy sources and high-efficiency cogeneration and on amendments to certain acts and the Operating Rules of the Registry of Renewable Gases Operator. The aforementioned activity of the company is subject to price regulation by the Regulatory Office for Network Industries (RONI) of the Slovak Republic.
The Guarantee of Origin of renewable gas is issued by the Registry Operator in electronic form for each megawatt hour of renewable gas at the request of the renewable gas producer.
Activities related to the operation of the Registry shall mean:
- The creation and maintenance of accounts, in particular for renewable gas producers, gas suppliers, gas consumers, and other Account Holders who wish to be registered in the Registry for the purpose of performing activities related to the issuance and use of Guarantees of Origin.
- Maintenance of electronic records of:
- Issued Guarantees of Origin,
- Transferred Guarantees of Origin,
- Recognised Guarantees of Origin,
- Used Guarantees of Origin,
- Cancelled Guarantees of Origin.
